Kevin Brown, President : Partner at Rosner Brown Touchstone & Keller, LLP Kevin is a native of San Diego and has been practicing and serving clients as a certified accountant since 1982. He has provided financial, tax and consulting services to RBTK’s clients since 1990 and is responsible for the overall management and strategic planning services of the firm. This is Kevin’s second year as the President of the Bayside Board of Directors.
Vanessa Franco, Vice President : Vice President Operations San Diego Food Bank Vanessa has worked for the Jacob’s & Cushman San Diego Food Bank as the VP of Operations for eight years. In her position, Vanessa oversees all direct and indirect program services, facilities and internal and external partnerships. Vanessa was first introduced to Bayside at the Food Bank, but later became more involved while participating in a leadership program with Lead San Diego, a program that salvaged Bayside's Nutrition Program. Vanessa was asked to join the board in June of 2010 and has enjoyed working with such an empowering organization and a great group of passionate staff.
Dayanne Izmirian, Member : Assistant Dean Residential Life, University of San Diego Before moving from upstate New York in 1999, Dayanne worked at LeMoyne College in Syracuse, NY as Director of Housing Operations. Dayanne has been in her current role at USD, since 2007, and oversees housing operations and residential life programming and staffing. She received her Ph.D. from USD's School of Leadership and Education Sciences in 2008. Dayanne was introduced to Bayisde through her work at USD and involvement in the Linda Vista community. She is in her second year as Board Secretary, and fourth year on the board.
Peter Sieffert, Treasurer : Partner, Swiss Avenue Partners Peter spent 10 years as a business owner and consultant, building several small businesses throughout California. He has a diverse background that extends from engineering to a bachelor's in psychology and is currently working towards an MBA. He has extensive training and experience in the coaching field and is currenly heading up the San Diego office of Swiss Avenue Partners. This is his second year on the boarde and he is looking forward to using his skills and talents to help ensure Bayside's long-term sustainability.
Grover Diemert, Member : Community Advocate Grover was raised on a farm in North Dakota where he was a Catholic priest for 13 years. After moving to San Diego in the early 90’s, he became Executive Director of Bayside in 1995, until he retired in 2006. This is his third year on the Board. He enjoys Bayside because he believes in the role that Bayside plays in the development of a healthy, vibrant and sustainable community in Linda Vista. His hobbies include gardening, taking care of his dog, reading and traveling.
Patricia Marquez, Member : Professor of Management, University of San Diego Before working at USD, Patricia was a professor at IESA Business School in Caracas, Venezuela. She was the Cisneros Scholar at the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies (DRCLAS) at Harvard University and visiting professor at Harvard Business School for the academic year 2005-2006. She has taught graduate and executive education courses on Leadership and Organizational Behavior, Business Initiatives at the Base-of-the-Pyramid, Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Enterprise. She is excited to bring her passion for business and community to Bayside.
Claire Donahue, Member : Cantarah Group Claire brings more than 25 years of progressive marketing and business development experience to Bayside, initially as a volunteer and now as a board member. Claire thrives when contributing creative energy to new ventures in diverse, collaborative environments. For more than 15 years she created innovative marketing and branding strategies, and cultivated business development relationships, in startup and large scale organizations developing commercial software platforms and digital imaging technologies. Now an independent consultant, Claire provides marketing services to non-profit organizations including the East Los Angeles Women's Center; Bienvenidos Children's Center, Inc.; The Latino Fatherhood and Family Institute; the University of California, San Diego; and others. As the granddaughter of immigrants from Portugal and Ireland, she has a lifelong interest in culture, assimilation and social change, which fits nicely with the mission, rich history, and cultural diversity found at Bayside. Claire's hobbies and passions include worldwide adventure travel, creative and social entrepreneurship, and her children, Luisa and Adrian.
Antonio Barbosa, Member : Vice President, Corporate Community Development, Wells Fargo A 10 year veteran of Wells Fargo, Antonio oversees and directs the leadership teams on Community Reinvestment Act initiatives that support underserved populations. Antonio represents Wells Fargo as an active community leader in economic development and services that promote economic self-sufficiency, education and social services. Born in Mexico City, Antonio graduated from Iberoamerican University with a Law Degree and prior to joining Wells Fargo he worked for the Mexican Government at the General Consulate of Mexico in San Diego, where he managed Community Affairs and Government Relations.
Jorge Riquelme, Ex-officio Member : Executive Director, Bayside Community CenterJorge has been the Executive Director of Bayside since 2007. Prior to taking over as Executive Director, Jorge was an Assistant Professor at San Diego State, San Marcos. Although he enjoyed his work as an educator and researcher in a public institution of higher learning, he was drawn more strongly to the advocacy work outside the classroom. When the opportunity came up at Bayside, he knew it was the perfect place to merge his love of education and advocacy for social justice. During his free time, he enjoys watching sports, spending time with his family and being active in the community. |
