Teresa, a recent immigrant from Oaxaca, Mexico and a mother of four, speaks fluent Spanish and Mixtec, and limited English. Yet that hasn’t stopped her from stepping up for change.
As a recent graduate of the Resident Leadership Academy (RLA) Teresa embodies what it means to be a leader, in her home, and in her community.
Her leadership is contagious. Teresa’s 14 year old daughter Daniella, also enrolled and graduated from the RLA alongside her mother—the youngest RLA student to date!
Through their community engagement efforts, they are working together to create meaningful change and better lives for everyone in the neighborhood.
