Bayside is actively engaged with a wide array of educational opportunities for children, youth, adults, and seniors.
- Bayside provides daily after school literacy services to English language learners in 2nd and 3rd grade at five public schools in Linda Vista.
- Intersession programs for middle school students focus on literacy, the arts, character, and leadership.
- Life skills and hands-on college and career guidance counseling for high school students help define a path for future success.
- Programs for adults include English as a Second Language, Spanish 101, Computer Literacy, Sewing, Ukulele, Hula, Tai Chi, and more.
Resident Leadership Academy (RLA)
The RLA is a ten-class course that helps residents gain knowledge and tools to make positive changes within their community and advance the goals of Live Well San Diego. Live Well is a San Diego County Board of Supervisors initiative for a county-wide transformation to create a healthy, safe, and thriving SD County.
Bayside Environmental Learning Center (BELC)
Bayside is a leader in hands-on public awareness and environmental education programs directed at the youth of Linda Vista (K-12), families, and intellectually or developmentally disabled young adults. We offer programming in composting, drip irrigation, bioswale creation, water conservation, rain harvesting, soil preparation, organic gardening, aquaponics, and native plant species, and are a zero-waste facility.
Cooperative Leadership Academy (CLA) The CLA is an innovative, collaborative approach to address the needs of an underserved, diverse community by educating community members on how to address and prevent community-identified challenges. The CLA directly impacts Linda Vista by fostering and further developing educated, empowered community members to participate in critical discussions of the future of their neighborhood, with a focus on issues of education, food security, and housing.
