Linda Vista's First Garden Crawl
/On Saturday, October 17, 2026, more than two dozen community members including Linda Vista residents and garden enthusiasts from around San Diego joined Bayside staff and volunteers for Linda Vista’s first garden crawl. Participants explored the three gardens that Bayside operates in the neighborhood, enjoyed Dia de los Muertos crafts, and learned about the importance of gardens in local food systems while enjoying local and seasonal food and beverages.
The first stop of the day was at the garden at Advancing Students Forward, just two blocks from Bayside. Guests decorated and filled seed packets while enjoying pepino agua fresca made with local ingredients from the Love, Linda Vista Farmers Market. They then ventured off to Bayside’s Co-op Garden where guests were given a tour of Bayside’s production garden and a preview of what’s to come in the backyard – a fruit tree orchard! Finally, at the Linda Vista Community Garden, guests finished their garden crawl in the heart of the community. They made Dia de los Muertos-themed clay skulls, decorated an ofrenda (altar), made herb bundles to take home, and enjoyed local food and beverage from K Sandwich and the community garden.
Enjoy some highlights from the day!
